Spanish program 2016-2017 year.
Profesora: Karla Flórez Albor
This year our Spanish Program will follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF or CEFR). This framework was put together by the European Council as a way to standardize the levels of language exams and programs around the world.  The differentiated instruction in our Spanish class will permit our students to progress according to their own capabilities and to their corresponding level of the Spanish language aligned with the Common Core Standars.
My objectives this year are:
1. to provide engaging lessons that help them increase their cultural backgrounds,
2. to accompany them in their learning process so they can reach their highest potential in the Spanish Language by Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Listening in Spanish.
For elementary purposes Students will be placed in A1 or A2 levels.  Students will be working during class on different activities in their own level group. Tests and assignments will be given according to the level.
Level description by CEFR.
A1.  A basic ability to communicate and exchange information in a simple way. Students can ask simple questions about a menu, weather, and understand simple answers.
A2.  An ability to deal with simple, straightforward information and begin to express oneself in familiar contexts. Student can take part in a routine conversation on simple predictable topics.

Let's begin this journey together; at home encourage your child to be serious and responsible learning Spanish as a second language, at the school we will make sure to provide the environment to help them practice and progress in Spanish.
